Coordinate geometry — IGCSE Mathematics - International (0607) questions by topic
Coordinate work spans reading and calculating: writing down coordinates marked on a grid, finding where a perpendicular bisector meets the x-axis, and finding the equation of a line perpendicular to a given line through a stated point all test both plotting and algebraic skill.
Find, work out, write, plot and state lead the command words, worth from 2 to 8 marks, across 8 questions from 2025 papers. Because perpendicular-line questions rely on correctly inverting and negating a gradient, practise that step in isolation before building the full equation, then use instant marking to check whether a gradient error was caught at that stage rather than carried through to a wrong final line.
