Practical skills — IGCSE Physics (0625) questions by topic

Practical skills questions ask you to record a thermometer reading to the correct precision, plot and draw a line of best fit for a spring's extension against load, plan an experiment investigating how a beaker's exposed surface area affects cooling rate, and identify what other length must be measured to find a tank's water volume. Calculate, measure, state, suggest and describe are the top command words, so exact reading of scales and careful graph construction matter as much as the underlying physics.

Marks range from 1 to 13 across the 127 real questions gathered here, from 2023 to 2025 papers. Because examiners repeatedly flag small precision errors in these tasks, submit your readings, tables and graphs for instant marking so a reading taken to the wrong number of significant figures is caught before it becomes a habit.
