Drama — IGCSE English - Literature In English (0475) questions by topic

Set texts such as Death and the King's Horseman, Twelfth Night and Journey's End are examined here through passage-based extract questions and whole-text essays, drawn from 150 real questions set in 2023 to 2025 papers, all 50-mark responses.

How and to what extent carry the extract questions, asking how a writer makes a passage powerful, comical or striking, while explore and discuss on the essay options need textual detail rather than plot summary. The reports repeatedly reward candidates who read the question carefully enough to focus on the exact word set, such as 'strikingly', so drafting an extract answer and getting it marked instantly is a direct check on whether that focus word has actually shaped the response.
