Expect diagram-based labelling of flower structure and the human reproductive systems, short definitions, and explanations of why offspring show genetic differences: locating the anther and stigma on a flower diagram, identifying parts of the male and female reproductive systems, and describing fertilisation step by step. State, describe and identify lead the command words, and describe wants a specific structural feature rather than a general comment.

What examiners look for
- A recurring error suggests stamens or filament where the anther and stigma, specifically located inside the flower, are required.
- Wind pollination answers often describe pollen colour or scent instead of features such as lightweight, low-density pollen with increased surface area.
- Genetic variation in offspring is marked down when described only as 'non-identical', without reference to underlying genetic differences.
- Strong answers on fertilisation refer to two parents, the role of meiosis, and the fusion of haploid cells to form a zygote, and correctly trace sperm passing through the sperm duct and cervix.
